Gile Hill is a new neighborhood at the southern end of the Town of Hanover. The community consists of 120 new apartments and condominiums in 12 buildings on a wooded 21-acre site. This beautiful tract of land was donated by the Town of Hanover following a Town Meeting vote in 2003 as a significant way to respond to the critical need for reasonably priced housing in the Upper Valley region. Gile Hill is an innovatively designed, environmentally sensitive and energy efficient community, close to downtown Hanover, the Centerra Business Park and the abutting Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. The first four buildings were completed in the fall of 2008, four more in 2009 and the remaining four planned for later in 2009 and 2010. More than 900 applications for rental apartments have been distributed, and the rental housing is fully occupied. Condominium sales continue with 15 of the 16 sold and two more buildings planned for a construction start in the summer of 2009.
